How do i know if my charger has enough wattage to charge my batteries. I know it can because i tried it but, if i were to buy a charger and wanted to calculate how much wattage i would to charge my batteries how would i find that out?

it is also how long it will take to charge a 50 watt will charge 5000mah batteries but it will take way longer than a 200 watt charger will

To determine the wattage the formula is volts x amps = watts.

        Example a 2s 5000mah charging at 1c.

The full voltage of a lipo is 4.2v per cell so a 2s lipo fully charged is 8.4v. So a charger will enter 8.4v typically into the lipo to charge it. 5000mah charging at 1c would be 5 amps using the forumla above our 2s lipo from above would use approx 42 watts to charge (8.4v x 5 amps) most chargers (especially the ac/dc stand alone chargers) are 50 watts which will work fine for most of our 2s packs, but larger 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s packs especially those with high mah rating will push a little 50watt charger to the max. I perfer a power supplies with chargers that are higher then 50 watts. My fav charger is 200 watts matched with a 350watt power supply she gets the job done fast on those 6s packs! :D

Thanks diesel. Anyone have any thoughts on the steering on the UL-1 I mentioned in the initial post?

UL 1 likes right turn and straights, But does not like left turns to much,

No prob. The d/r is your range, turn it down less servo movement, turn it up more servo movement. Remember the ul1 is a hydro so its setup with the turn fin for right turning. Turning left your fighting the boats natural tendencies. I personally moved the steering rod down a few holes on the servo arm. That allowed for more travel.

Wow he must have really crashed hard. If you ask me it was the hobby shop guy trying to get you to buy his lipo for more $. I flew a gens ace cell into a roof doing 50 + and i still run the pack with no issues. They are encased in metal. Like the others said, if it was a gens ace it could have been lots of user based errors, don't let that scare you away, they are great batteries. I only buy gens ace now. I have 3 sets of 4s 4000 mah and a set of 4s 3300. Much better then turnigy for me, especially the shipping from hobbypartz, i love the shipping from hobbypartz, but im also 2 hrs away. I run 4s 2p in my boats. I Just like it better.

Tried them last year in my spec powered boats (UL-1, Geico, Stiletto and SV motors) great batteries for the amp draw you will see. Will be buying more Gens Ace this year.
Can't tell any difference in spec setups between them and Enerlands which are twice as much $.
In the last year I've really become a huge fan of the "Limited" class racing/boating. For me the fun to cost ratio just can't be beat. I used to run fairly big nitro boats.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I understand what most of you guys are saying already on the steering of the UL-1 I was just wondering if the weak steering was due to the D/R adjustment. Also Diesel, did u have to drill the horn in order for the steering rod to fit? On the horn on mine I would have to do that to get the rod to fit. Or did u just use a different servo horn altogether? I understand the boat pretty well there are just a few small things i don't understand and I figured you guys would probably know the answers to them. Thanks for the comments.
