    Replacing nimh with Lipo

Dug a few old boats out of the closet today, most were 700 motor 12 cell nimh. After a few cycles the batts did not come back up, the cells have a tag 4200mah 1.299 volt @ 30 amp load. What would be a good replacement for these in lipo? Would like the same voltage or possibly better in the 30-40 amp draw range. Thanks

I'm no pro, so someone might have to correct me, but by 12 cell I am assuming is 14.4 volts total?

If that is the case then a 4s lipo (14.8 volts) would work. If you got a 4000mah 20c it would be able to provide 80amps

Not sure if that is what you are looking for.

The old pack would put out 15.48 volts under a 30 amp load, so I need a lipo that can supply 3.87 volts per cell while under a 30 amp draw. Would 4000-5000 mah 4s need to be 2P to achive this? Not sure on the voltage drop of lipo. Thanks
