2S for 6v receiver

Hi Guy's ,

Probably one of those questions that gets asked on this forum once a week ....


Is there any inherent problems with running a 2S receiver pack , through a 6v receiver ??
Or should wire a UBEC to ensure the extra Volt does not create an overload ??

Generally speaking with 2S LiPo there is a chance you will burn up your reciever.

Use 2S LiFe and you are much safer. Some use LiPo with a voltage regulator. Some won't use LiFe or LiPo at all.

I use LiFe with my Futaba gear and have had no problems at all.

The receiver may be ok, the servo's may not since they share the same power bus. What receiver are you using?

It's a 4 Channel Fly Sky FS - T4B unit , for a sailboat project that I have had going for a while . While talking to a guy from Texas , look out for Australia's V8 Touring Car Championship , as they are holding a round of their championship at your new Texas Motor Racing Circuit from 2013 there ....

Looks like the perfect battery for receivers from Hobbyking , had this 2S receiver pack for a
While though . It works great just have wire UBEC in circuit. ....

I use a FlySky GT3 with the 3 channel receiver on 2s with no issues, but with 2S capable servos.

Just a tad rusty I am with all this , been busy studying and spending quality time with my young family . I have either overloaded the cheap servo with 1v , or have styro caught in travel of servo operation , have moved excess styro now ....

Very happy with Fly Sky , for the money , they just can't be beaten .....

HA! No, I converted myself a year ago. Look on jim's, there's quite a few comments I've made there about it. I have a gt2 and gt3.

I ran am rec on 9v packs for years...never an issue. Not sure the newer ones would have an issue but 7.4 is what I run now on small litho packs. Tactic radios and works great.
