2x2s lipos versus 4s lipo

Is there any particular reason why i should consider using 2 x 2s packs over 1 4s pack.

my boat is very pushed for space so i would like to keep the wiring to a minimum

i would think the difference would be placement of battery. it would need to be centered otherwise the boat will be heavy on one side….

I the room is there I would run 4s2p meaning running two 4s in parallel

I run a 4S2P using four 2S packs-- lots of wires to hook up and I did "dead short" once... so be careful.
I do it this way because my other boat needs 4S1P with 2 packs for placement reasons. Now I can use the packs in either boat-- more flexiblity. I am picking up a 3rd boat that also needs two 2S1P packs, so this scheme is working out for me.
