I am getting back into RC after 6 years and things have changed quite a bit.
I have Cen Aqua Jet and Wave shark with 700BB (Brushed) Motors running RC Hydros ESC for 10-24 cell 90A.
My last betteries were 8-PAK NIMH GP4300. I run 16 cells in the boats and after looking on OSE for new batteries it is obvious that LIPOLY are the new standard.
For now I want to keep my ESC and motors before I go into complete upgrades. So new batteries are the question. Do I purchase NIMH or upgrade to LIPOLY?
1. What size LIPOLY Paks would I buy to get similiar performance.
2. Can my ESC handle the Lipoly's? It is not programable and there is no voltage shut off.
3. I have a Triton charger which can handle LIPOLY, but I don't even see this on OSE any longer. Is this charger ok to use safely?
Thank you for your feedback to an out of date newbie.
Thanks
