    Lipo storage and disposal

I don't want to start a big debate on the safety of Lipo batteries but I am wondering how people are storing them and how do you dispose of them when they are dead?
Do you store them together , separately ?

    Thanks Tim K

A metal box is better than nothing but if you really want to play it safe (pun intended) By a small fire safe. There are several to choose from on ebay. Something like this would work well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMALL-FIRE-S...ht_2202wt_1413

          Ex army
          ammo boxes work great
with fire retardent insulation that is used in building construction sites

and store the lipo between two boxes, just in case something happens, that way all is not lost

disposing in salt water for a week certainly works

I keep my lipos in a ceramic box that I think was originally intended to store bread.

Along this line, for long storage durations,(months of non-use), how often should you check them? or re-storage charge them?, or maybe cycle them?

I have heard of folks storing them in a freezer...............Lithium has a much lower freezing temp than water apparently. I have not personlly done this, i store them in room temp. at 3.8-3.9v per cell.

Problem is when they get real cold the storage voltage drops below acceptable values and they get damaged. See this. http://www.kongpower.com/faq_en/show...t01=&srhTxt02=
