hobbyking has a big sale on turnigy packs.
my opinion: don't buy them!

you also have to remember that they sell probably packs than anyone and their % of dead packs still could be as low as 2%

well actually I have had one bad back, only to find that one of the tabs in a 3s packs was bad, and with a little time and solder it works perfect now!!

i'm not saying never buy from hobbyking, i have found my battery sources, and hobbyking is no longer one of them, i'm not going to make you stop buying from hk, i'm just saying at the moment, until the sale of returned, puffed packs is over, i'd lay off the turnigy's

do you have proof of such a claim, like this happened to you personaly?
or are you just going off what some person who is trying to discredit Hobbyking for their own misuse

well that's an interesting find...
I've seen this a few times on the WWW of user error, of lipos being used till dead and ran all the way down..
packs puff, and oh dang, it has to be someone else's fault right.. has to be the lipo

i am not mad at anyone.
all i am saying is that i saw multiple threads of turnigy's ARRIVING puffed, none of them mine so i cannot vouch for what was done to them before the pictures were taken.
i also saw a thread of someone receiving a puffed Turnigy that had been charged, likely by a user before it got returned to hobbyking and sold again.
this would imply a bad production run or a small error in the run making a significantly raised number of failures in turnigy batteries.
hobbyking then sells their turnigy's at lower prices, here are the benefits for them:
getting rid of bad lipos
excuse on warranty claims about lipos on sale
possibly no warranty on sale items, they could be claimed "scratch n dent"
i'd say that's enough reason for them to do it.
i honestly don't care about my zippy, yeah it was stupid to do it that way and i made a mistake, nobody's perfect.

#1 we can't say for sure if they came this way or not.. could be user error on some posts..
#2 that cannot be proved that it was returned and then resold by HK
both packs were charged by the now user! (there are contradictions in that said thread)

many want to blame others for there own bad uses

and this thread just spreads the some of the lies on the WWW

the only real issues is the fact HK is lacking on customer service right now.. but with more shops opening up they are getting better

It does seem like I'm hearing a lot of people say they have had packs dead on arrival from HK just lately. I'm one of them. Ordered 6 packs and one was puffed on arrival. It's annoying but at the price you take that risk!
