    DSC02846.JPGRand,

I picked up some of these 2S 40C packs. Good punch so far. I've looked over the one you pictured for a spec battery & might give it a try based on the price & local shipping.

Gens Ace ROCK!!!!!! I love them! My Data logging shows they provide better performance then Turnigy packs! Less voltage drop underload and increased performance!

I was wondering if the amp rating could be trusted? I know you never try to pull max., but with two of these packs in paralleled could I feel safe to pull 175 to 200 amps?

I almost always buy Pollyquest 25C packs and can use them for two to three years with no problems.

No answers, 73 views, Can any one help?

I hate to invest to see if the cells are what they call them. but no info I had to try, I am running out of time. I just bought these to test and see of they are correctly rated. I will be pulling 175 to 210amps constant. with 2S2P

I don't think you will have any problems with a them at all. Run a 2p setup and your golden. I personally like the gens ace packs better then the turnigy packs. Here's a thread about these batteries http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...attery-Testing. I wouldn't hesitate running them.

                  Randy,

I've only used the Gen Ace 40C 2S 5000's in series in my SAW spec boat - the UL-1 motor with Brian's prop was probably pulling in the vicinity of around 80-100 amps in the short runs. Nothing ever got hot, batteries had good punch and got better after 5+ runs. I like them.

In all the recent tests. Gens Ace packs have come out on top even beating Thunder Power in some areas.

I run those same packs 4s2p in a 32 mono w cc1515 2200kv. Although I don't data log I can tell you running low to mid 50s mph on a m545 my set up is never hot. Motor in the 80s esc in the 90s and cells in the 120° range.
I'm also getting the same performance from the sky lipos as well.
not racing so don't have enough cycles to know about longevity.

There are some new batteries just coming out. They have impressive specs and are attractively priced. They are shipped in the U.S. from a U.S. warehouse. I will be trying some soon.

There is an active forum on RC groups about the batteries. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...8#post19880728

I need to break in the Turnegy and then test on my hot setups. Then if the 2S2P go OK I will look at the 4S2P for other setups. I still have to keep in mind that I gang the packs together to make 10S2P for some of my boats.

Randy, FWIW I just got back from the lake where I ran my SAW Drifter with two 2S 40C 5000mah GenAce paks I bought used right here. They were superb !!

One thing to watch out for : some of the sku's have 4 mm wire plug-ins; others labeled "Direct" have thicker wires soldered intetrnally. Just so you know.
