B- grade lipos?

has anyone ever tried them? they look really cheap and I don't know if they are worth it, i'd be getting the 5000 45C's.
I don't understand, when they say they are lower quality, does that mean they aren't up to the 5000mah 45C task? (200 amps or so)

They say these packs have cells with higher internal resistance. This is not something you want in a high amp setup. If you over current these packs they will probably baloon up/loose their capacity etc. For lower current applications it should be ok. For a slow retreival boat for example.

that's what I don't understand, the IR IS the "c" rating, so if it's a 45C battery, how does it have higher IR than any other 45C battery?
I guess numbers are just pulled out of the air.

I think they are from the same batch as the good 45C ones, but due to their higher IR they were labeled B grade. The 45C label remained however.

No, IR is not the C rating. IR is the internal resistance. C is the amp rating of the cells.

I had 3s B-Grade batteries 5000mah 40-50c. Good power on them, were still good after 10 runs. Then I sold them as I no longer needed them. They always balanced well sometimes only being 0.01 out. B grade batteries they say only only last 60 cycles. 60 Cycles is loads enough for me. The normal Turnigy Lipos are meant to last over 100 cycles but I wouldn't count on that.

well the internal resistance of the cells would determine how many amps can pass through the cell, at least that's how i thought it was.

Well the b- grade batts are much cheaper for a reason. You may get lots of runs out of them or they could puff up and go out on you after a few runs. Work well for a crawler truck. But if it were me and my boat, id spend the extra few bucks for good packs. I run a buddies turnigy packs in boat. Work great. The other non b-grade packs they sell are not much more money compared to dynamite, traxxas , etc...

The IR is a real number that you can obtain from a decent charger like a Hyperion. That tells you more of how the cells will perform than the C rating.

The iChargers also can tell you the IR of the battery pack connected.
