Wiring 12AWG to 8AWG is this OK?

My esc are Himodel 200amp and they have got 12awg wires coming from them which is fairly small. The old batteries had matching wires but the new ones have 8awg wires on which are thicker. Should I connect these 2 different wires together or do I have to change the wire thickness on the esc?
    Thanks

You can just connect the 2 different wires together and it will work fine, however 12g is rather small if your even looking like aproaching the limits of the ESC and swapping them for 8g is a worthwhile modification.

10awg is my choice. 8awg is a beatch to work with. Unless you're running high volt/amps, 10awg is enough.

I'm just looking at running 4s 2s 5000mah 40-50c in Parallel. I have noticed 8awg is quite annoying to twist and turn in cramped hulls. Thanks for the info guys.

Its good to see someone from England on here. Not many of us. You wouldn't happen to know where I can get a delta force Cyberstorm hull in the UK would u?
