    Lipos : which vendor ?

    Hi,

I am looking for an update regarding lipos cells. (If there is already an existing topic let me know!)
Which lipo brand would you recommend for a heavy usage (70 to 80 Amp) and long lasting performance ? have you measuree the internal resistance of your pack ?
What is you experience abour Nano tech cells from hobbyking ?

    Regards

Have and own. Hyperions, turnigy & nano techs. The hyperions are my most expensive 45C packs. And they have been great. The nanos have been good except one pair bothers me, One pair of 4S 25C packs. One set of 3S 45C packs that have slightly puffed after only a few times of use but balance out and still seem ok. One set of 4S 45C packs that I just got the other day and haven't tried yet. And I own 40C regular turnigys of 2S and 3S packs that have been great with no issues.

So far all of them have been holding up even the slightly puffed pair. But from what I read on other people testing them is you get what you pay for sorta speak. With hyperions you get quality packs and are less likely to have any problems and they are a pro racers choice. The turnigys are cheaper with less quality control so you might or might not have problems. And if your a top notch racer that needs every edge you can get to win then the turnigys might not give you that.

And as always it depends on your budget and how you want to spend your money and time.

I have had the best performance thus far with Thunder Power R/C... Both the 45C and the new 65C have held up very well and have yielded impressive performance.

I'm running GrimRacer packs in my 2S and 4S boats (limited size and capacity choices). I'm running Hyperions in other applications.

For District-level racing, most of my club run either Hyperion G3 45C or ThunderPower 65C packs.

Hyperion, thunders and even polys are all great packs but the price is hard to take for just bashing and goofing off at the local pond. I've had mixed luck with the turnigy,s but the gens ace and sky lipos have been great.I've found that a poorly set up boat is hard on even the best batteries and a well set up boat runs pretty well even on crap batteries. Thanks for your feed back.

Has any of you measured the internal resistance of theses lipo ? Most recent loader provide this piece of information.

They are working fantastic. I've got a pretty busy season on them between SAWs, club racing, district and the trip to the NAMBA gas/nitro Nat in LA. Performance hasn't dropped off at all. I've got ~50 cycles per pack and they are holding strong. The 4S 5000's are right at 6 mohm.

Some of the SAW runs are up over 300amps on an unparalleled pack.

All in all, very happy with them.

                          Venom

I've tried other top grade packs of many vendors, and I'm quite happy and successful with my Venom batteries.
Performance is great and the price point is amazing (from what all the popular hobby shops are saying) I've been running this set for close to 8-months and they still blast off with no true need to attain new ones.

Best thing about Venom batteries is a Lifetime Warranty.
They go out even a year from now, send 'em in and you're all brand new!

I had some Venom batts a few years ago when I was into trucks and they didn't seem to to stand up to the abuse as well
as my other packs so I never even considered using them anymore. I must give them a whirl again given the warranty - which strangely enough I was not aware of before ....

The cells from a couple/few years back weren't like what we've got going now (admittedly) They were like a step above Maxamps. These newer ones are a lot more durable and robust. The warranty is a great thing as well. I can account for the red case 50c 5000 packs, and 65c 5600 packs as well.
