How much battery would I need...

I curious how much battery do you all think I would need.
Im already have a bunch of 2s 40c 5000 mah packs that I run in series. Want to run a 2150 leopard 4076 in an apparition.
Do you think i can get away without running a parallel setup to give me 10000 mah??

OK I will try to help you understand the way to figure it out.
in parallel the voltage stays the same and the mah doubles
in series the voltage is combined (7.4v +7.4v=14.8v) and the mah stays the same.

      Yep got that part.

I understand voltage current and wattage.

What I am trying to figure out is will my batteries be able to give me enough current.
I have been doing some reading and I think that my battries can move enough current to power this setup. However i have heard that not enough current capacity can cause higher ripple current in the esc that can be very hard on capacitors.
I don't want to damage my esc. I can run my batteries in parallel if need to but don't want the extra weight.

I can get the motor, run my batteries and check the ripple logs from my hydra ice but I kind lf want to cover all my bases first.

your batteries will mopst likely melt connectors because 2s packs just cant supply enough power to that leopard motor. i run that motor in my mean machine and originally ran 2s packs but things were getting so hot my 5.5 bullets were unsoldering themselves in the middle of the run. it can be done but you really gotta watch runtimes. when i went to 4s parallel things cooled way down and runtimes went up.

There is nothing wrong with running your 2S/40C/5000 mAh packs in series for 4S1P. The only qualifier here is the quality of your packs - if they are cheap then they may not hold up because many cheap packs do not really supply the power the label says they do. They will run hot and may not last. Quality 2S packs run in series will do this easily - fellow club members do it all the time with stronger motors than your Leopard. But you have to prop the motor sanely. Any fool can over-prop even a 4S2P setup. If in doubt, err on the side of safety and go 2P.

thats what i thinking but needed to hear it from someone else.
ill run it on 4s see what temps look like on my batteries.
ill take the parallel connectors just in case.
