    battery to esc connector heat??

I see a lot of talk about battery, esc, and motor heat, what about connector heat from the battery packs to the esc?? I am currently running EC5 connectors from my packs to the esc on my MC. Everything is stock except for the M445 prop and Iam running 5000mah 40c Gen Ace packs in series for 4c. My motor and esc stay in the 113* to 115* range but my EC5 connectors are around 150* Is there a safe range for connectors like there is motors and esc's??

Try 5.5mm connectors, they are the best, or larger.
Keep the wires short and make sure you do good soldering on connectors....

The good solder joints are one of the most critical spots. If you're measuring 150* on the connector you are close to a failure. When doing discharge testing for our batteries, I have found that plugs start unsoldering themselves at around 155 degrees outside temp. (This varies by connector of course)

I have seen bad solder jobs that do not even make the ESC arm properly. Re-solder with proper joint and all is good.

Make sure the solder flows well, and doesn't ball up on the wire or connector. You should have a nice meniscus from the wire to the plug, with a slightly shiny joint.

I am pretty confident about my solder joints but I will check them. I am wondering if the heat is being created because my battery wires are 12gauge and my speed control wires are 14gauge. Thinking that the transition from 12 to 14 is creating enough resistance to heat up the plugs?.

Bingo... 14Awg wire. Your whole system is choking. Too small of hose for what the flow is. It'd be like trying to drain the Grand Coulee Dam through a garden hose.

LOL well looks like i will need to get a better esc with bigger wires as the stock MC esc is totaly sealed up. Thinking maybe the seaking 120.
