What is better 1P or 2P

looking to buy some new lipos for my rigger right now I am running 30c turnigy 5000 mah but I'm thinking of switching
to Nanos and running 2650 mah 45C in 2P.I know they will fit in and it would give me an extra 250mah.The boat has a neu
    1506 5200kv motor.
    Thanks Jack

its a trade off really as 2p will be able to supply more current or amps but be twice as heavy,in my experience it seems that it makes some boats more stable due to the weight on the hull but if you dont need the extra amps then its a hinderance kinda.the boat in theory should be faster with less weight.this is where a data logger with amp draw can maybe help you better.if you were fine with the other batts then all you stand to gain is more runtime and slightly less taxed batteries bud.

Using the nanos will be about 20grams heavier. The boat does run at about 90 amps full throttle. It's probably worth a try to see if there is any difference.
      Thanks

The big question is how much power do you need and how much power can you fit in the hull.
Weight is one factor and dimensional size is the other.
I have done 2P where one pack would not fit but two smaller packs did, the end result was mathematically or electrically the same.

eg. 2 x 1500mAh 45C should be similar to 1 x 3000mAh 45C ( there are some technical differences ) for practical purpose they are the same.

For me the bottom line is how big a pack I can reasonably fit in there. For my riggers weight is not the biggest issue I need to ask of myself, power (VxA) is the question I need to snswer

I just looked at your numbers again
          5000/30C = 150A
          2650/45C = 117A times 2 for 2P equals 234A

If it were me and I could get that 2P setup in there with no major weight penalty then I would be on it in a heartbeat !

Thanks Simon I know 2P fits and the weight difference is not alot.Just order a couple of set to try.
