    Lipo help needed

I am building a Miss elam boat. It has Leopard 4082 2200kv motor and SeaKing 180 Amp ESC. Their not lot of room for batteries . My 2cell 5000mha Turnigy lipo wont fit. I found Turnigy 4cell 2200mah lipo 30C . I was thinking about running (2) 4cells in parallel. Like to know if this would work and not over heat the lipos?

i'm assuming you would be running two of the 2S's in series for 4s? 2200mAh in P will give you 4400mAh, not a huge step down from 5000mAh, either way, the batteries will not be able to deliver more than 150A, you might want to look into 35 or 40C packs, assuming they will fit.

      I found a 4cell 2200mah 40c that will fit. So I will run (2) 4cells in parallel. That would make it 4s2p?

yes, it would be 4S2P, and would be perfectly capable of delivering anything the ESC can also handle.

BG are you trying to screw this guy over?
each of those packs can deliver a max of 80 amps cont. you will overheat and destroy them. You either need more amperage or less motor, what you have now is a recipe for disaster!
Not to mention you will get next to no run time.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

4s2p on those cells will be 40C 4400mah. 40*4400= 176000, or 176A, correct me if I'm wrong on my math but that is what I have learned.

Theoretically, yes, you will be able to provide the ESC with 176A. However, each of the 4s packs is still only rated at 88A. If for some reason the packs were not discharging perfectly balanced, and more load was put on one pack over the other, it will likely fail. Ideally, you want each of the 1p packs to cover off the amp requirements. Then when you double up to 2p, you are safe, and get the extra run time.
