    Nano tech lipo's, different batches different sizes

    Hi, I've recently stocked up on 4s and 6s Nano tech 45-90c 5000mAh lipo's. Due to $$$'s I split it into two orders, one last month and one this month and am bewildered to find that the 2nd batch order in both 4s and 6s are narrower than the first batch order. I understand the meaning of "nano tech" but surly the technology hasn't gotten smaller in just one month, what would you make of this? I'm a little worried that they may not be a true 5000mAh.
    Here's the pic's so you can see the size difference:

    6s, both lables say the same

    4s, once again, both lables are the same

    I'd be suggesting that you buy them all in one batch order so this won't happen

      Danny is it possible for you to weigh a few of them and post the results. I have been using them myself and will be inspecting them a bit closer tomorrow. You would have to think there has to be a mAh difference. Surely the company would be spruiking about how they put the same mAh in a smaller package if that was the case.
      BTW I have always been happy with their on water performance but I am going to compare them with ENTROPY soon and see if I can spot a difference.

        HK may be shopping for the best price on cells each month and they differ from one manufacturer to another. Just a guess.

          ...and I got lambasted when asking what the size of a certain pack was... jeese...

          I've never ordered a lot like that and now I'm going to check some of my cells...

            my good digital scales only go to 500grams so I've had to weigh them on kitchen scales so it's an approx:

            4s batch 1= 595grams
            batch 2= 580grams

            6s batch 1= 860grams
            batch 2= 820grams

            I'm still learning how to play with the eagle tree system, I'll have to solder connectors before I can hook it up, is there a setting to show me a "total mAh"?

                4s batch1 =36.8mm x 48.4mm
                batch2 =32.4mm x 48.8mm

                6s batch1 =52.7mm x 48.8mm
                batch2 =48.6mm x 48.8mm

                I've sent am email off to HK asking about this so I'll let you know what it say's, if and when they reply.

                  Thanks for the update on weights and measurements. Hope your Eagle Tree logger can tell us more. Sailr probably hit the nail on the head with his post.
                  Good luck with getting an answer from HK.

                      I suggest if you are running pairs, to clearly mark each pack and run them together by batch.

                        I purchased two Turnigy Nano-tech 5000mah 6S 45~90C back in March of this year and here are my dimensions. 52.0mm x 48.8mm, weight is 824g. I wont be running them until my hydro is finished so cant do any tests yet but this has me curious also.

                          It seems the eagle tree can give a cumulative milliamp-hour reading but does anyone know how to get a total, is it possible?

                            Are you guys discharging to absolute zero capacity anyway?

                            I have a 2200 from the same family... what little I know about LiPo includes not charging to 100% or discharging to 0 - cycle life is much increased this way, apparently. What's another 20 seconds of runtime worth? As long as rI is the same when you're paralleling (and are you paralleling balance taps?) why worry so much about a little dimensional change?

                            Just sipping my first coffee of the day, pardon my ignorance

                              It's just probably not good for esc's, or for the batteries if they are discharging at different rates, we aren't concerned about dimensions, but more what's in the batteries if they are being used together.
