    Cycling new batteries

Just out of curiosity what the is the norm for some of you guys cycling new cells

    - What do you use for load .
    - How many amps do you use to cycle .
    - How many cycles do you use before you draw full amps boating

    Thanks........................

    Hi Peter,
    I've been going by this.
Break-In Procedure - "Hyperion G3 LiPo are robust and do not need a complicated break-in procedure. We recommend that the first 5 uses are limited to 3C charge rates, and that pilots use throttle management to avoid long periods of max-rate discharge for those first 5 flights. Note also the other care suggestions below. Those apply pretty generally to any LiPo pack, not just Hyperion G3."

        Hi Peter

I use a Victor Engineering Charger/Discharger as the load for discharging, I program it for a variable rate discharge and the battery pack cutoff voltage, also monitor cell voltages with a Integy cell voltage/ alarm module for security too, I charge at a 1C rate and after each charge the discharge gets stepped up each time to break in the packs. I use mostly 2s packs but all the same, this way if a cell starts to go or dies I have not wasted a 4 or 6s pack because of one cell. My discharger can to up to 100 amps pulsed with the add on module. Usually cycle my packs at home about 5 times before running them in the boats. They have been working great.
There is no replacement for displacement, I guess I just have to Buzz it higher!

Not yet Ray but I am certainly open to suggestions - the motor is a 3080 connected to a HK jet pump

5 cycles, 1c charge, 2-20amp discharges then 3- 40 amp discharges. pl-8 unit, you can see the cells IR and balance improve thur the 4 cycle.
