Parallel vs. Series

I have a couple of questions. I have a Ms Geico. I am running 2s 5300 mah Dynamite LiPos in a stock set up. Can I get more run time with 4s 5000 mah in parallel?

How much power can the stock set up handle? I am thinking that 4s in parallel should not be a problem?

I understand that 2s means 2 cells at 3.7 volts each and so on. What does it mean when it says 4s2P? Is this a different LiPo or does it mean that I am running them in parallel and not series?

In a Traxxas Spartan, if I mod the engine and esc, can I run (4) 4s LiPos, if I wire them in a series on each side and then parallel them into the esc?

4s2p means you have 4 series cells and 2 of those in parallel.

You can make that configuration in a number of ways. Two 4s packs in parallel, two sets of two 2s packs in series, wired in parallel together, etc

When you parallel you just double the mah or fuel tank. So the problem that normally comes from that is the extra long runtime sometimes causes heat buildup that hte esc or motor can not handle.

4s2p can mean (2) 4s packs in parallel. A single 4s packs is 4s as you know.

(4)2s packs can be made into 4s 2p also.

OSE Forum has to be the best FE site around bar none, If anyone has questions ranging from micro right through to the biggest bad ass boats you will get very good advce & quick as well. Theirs such a varied range of FE discused & i for one really appreciate the good advice given on here. You can learn an awefull lot asking questions rather than just trying unknown things & then burning things.
