    Charge/discharge NiMh

Ok, I have a 5100mah 7.2v NiMh battery and a Accucell 6charger. To charge the battery I am going to set it at 5.1 amps.

Now to discharge it, what are amps and volts?

NIMH don't need discharging they have no memory like the older Nicad battery packs do.

Also make sure you set your MV sensitivity to 3 to 5 MV because i am pretty sure the auto mode it's 7mv and your battery will over heat if your charger is the same as most of the china chargers.
:p What go faster that's what I like to do!

NiMh can be charged up from any state of discharge.
But they should be stored fully charged.
Every now & then (say every 5 runs or so) it is a good idea to fully discharged down to 0.9V per cell. For a 6 cell pack that's 5.4V.
It's best done after a run in the boat, when the batteries are nearly drained, & at a 1 Amp discharge rate.
Then charge up at 1/2C (2.5A).
This procedure allows the cells to balance.
At least that's the way we used to do it.
        Cheers.
        Paul.
