    Strange charger/battery problem.

Just did a test run on my 54" Fountain, everything went great. I had the ESC's LVC set at 3.75 volts.

So now I'm trying to charge the batteries. I hook them to the charger (one at a time) and all but one cell shows 3.78 volts. The number 5 cell shows 5.08 volts.....on every battery!!! And the charger shuts down.

Is it possible that every battery has 5.08 volts in the #5 cell? No way right? Must be the charger right?

So needless to say I can't charge any of my batteries.

The charger works fine charging the 3 cell batteries. But every 6 cell battery shows 5.08 volts on cell #5.

With a volt meter.....what is the proper way to test each cell individually?

Start out with black wire negtive use black meter probe on it and then use red meter probe on the wire next in line... and to measure each cell after words you then move the black prob up one position ( where you just had red probe)and move the red prob up to the next position and that gives voltage for each cell.
Your charger may be charging the cells corectly but the display voltage may be way off.

Well looks like I need a new charger. Every cell on all 4 batteries measured out at exactly 3.5 volts.

Just to get something going before the weekend I was going to see if Steve can get this to me in a couple of days.

            Good charger?

I don't get what you are saying? 3.5V a cell your battery is not shot if one cell is at this voltage or if all cells are at this voltage/

What exactly is the problem you are having why you think your charger is shot?
Sounds to me like you ran your packs all the way down till low voltage kicked on from the esc?

If so that's not good to do that's why the cells are at 3.5V wich is not that bad at all some guy's run them lower.

What I am saying is that upon testing the batteries with the volt meter every cell in all 4 batteries came in at 3.5 volts. This is the result I was looking for as it means the ESCs did their job in shutting the boat down at the correct voltage.

So my problem must be in the charger if the charger is telling me that every battery has 5.08 volts in cell number 5.

No possible way all batteries can have 5.08 volts in cell number 5 after running the boat with these Leopard 5692's sucking the juice out of them.

                    Gotta be a charger problem.

Your charger may not be giving you an accurate reading for some reason. I agree, get the meter from OSE. It works great and is very accurate.
