    Wired double run single?

My boat is wired for two batteries, I'd like to run a single 6s. Is it possible (safe) to connect
a single battery this way? It occurs to me the circuit would not be complete...hot only with no ground., correct? If that is correct, is it possible (safe) to ground the single battery by using a connector with a single strand of 12ga. looped from the negative battery-side plug to the ground plug on the esc...then plugged to the ("unoccupied") plug? If any that made any sense. Thanks.

    Like this sort of.....

I have wondered about this also. Would you be able to just resolder your esc with two wires and no y harness?

I suppose but I'd prefer to leave the flexibility of the Y connector.

I had this same dilema recently and I fixed it by installing bullets on my ESC. But if you don't want to do that then what you propose would work, yes. BUT, I know there's always a but , you would add another piece of resistance to the setup thereby increasing the heat production at the connectors and decreasing efficiency. I guess to safetly say you can run that whenever you want it would depend on how many amps are being pulled on the setup, lower amps better results but high amp setups won't be worth the chance.

remember the Y cable we have to run 2P into one motor ?
reverse the Y loop... one batt, 2esc.
