Like spontaneous combustion? If it's just a day or 2 I will leave them charged, but any longer I will put them in "STORE" mode. Your hyperion has that function. I have 4 battery shelves 2 for stored and 2 for charged. (2 for flight batts, 2 for boat batts).

yes I have seen them just go up on a table and i have pics to prove it somewhere lol.A turnigy 4 cell 5800 went poof and fiiiiire.Be bloody careful and no it wasnt me but coulda been anybody

scary idea, will defiantly be leaving them in storage mode till i need them. i was wondering the same thing as krow.

Not normaly. They are very stable even fully charged. The main reason they catch fire when left alone is they suffered some damage, whether accidental or unintended. If the cell structure or design has been internaly damaged (and that may not be obvious at first glance) the cell will degrade. And if fully charged they become very energetic.

If you have dropped a pack, especialy on one corner or banged it against a sharp edge the outer cell struture can be comprimised. Over time as it is used the internal design can degrade and that odd or unusual spontaneous fire is the outcome.

Mostly 30c or 40c. I do have 1 pair of tenergy 2s 4000mah 25c's that i run in my h&m no step. Their a lot smaller than the turnigy/zippy packs and fit perfectly inside the small no step hull. They are the lowest c packs i use in my boats and i like them alot. They are currently on sale at amazon.com
