    Hyperion Duo II question

Ok just bought aHyperion duo II. I have a 12 amp power supply and most likey will never get above a 4s 5000mah battery.
Didn't think about the powersupply I am onlu used to haveing 50Watt chargers but this beast is 360 watts 180 per side.
Can i get by on the smaller power supply?

If you limit each side to 5 amps you will be fine.

Yeah they can be power hungry. I use a 50 amp at home but at work I used a 12 amp one time and forgot to limit the amp draw in the DUO and actually burned up the power supply charging two 6s 5000mah cells at the same time.

If you are looking for a good AC power supply for the hyperion, I use this one and it works great.

          icharger p350

This will provide max power for both channels-- useful if you ever want to charge above 1C (for example, some hyperion lipos can be charged up to 5C, but you need a lot of juice for that).

A cheaper alternative would be a Dell 500CB power supply from ebay for about $20, they supply 41A at 12V.

Here is the link for getting it to work, requires shorting 3 pins together. I hooked 2 pins to one side of a switch and the 3rd to the other and it works perfect. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...b#post15143837

Do you have one? Can you tell me the dimensions? They look huge on the ebay pic

Found these dimensions online 14 1/2 * 3 * 2 1/2. I bought a little project box from Radio shack and put 2 sets of female banana jacks in it with a switch and mounted the power supply under my work bench so it's out of the way. It is a little on the loud side and it's in the garage, but for $20 it can't be touched.

Yep...I got mine for around $20 also, but I like this one much better. Mine is a 13A and does not have a fan...this one is 41A with a fan! Nice find!

The dimensions are about right, it's about as long as 2 ATX power supplies. Thanks Kent! The one in the pic is a spare I bought just incase the first one was defective. I've been using the first one I bought for about a year with no issues at all.

Very simple. Wire 2 of the pins marked Y together and connect to one side of a switch. Wire the remaining pin marked Y to the other side. I used pins from a servo cable and they slide on and so far are staying put.
