Hello, My Motor pulls up to 88 max amps, is there a formula for type of lipo batt. to use? or a recommendation of a lipo to use? gartman.paul@gmail.com

First off, your motor will pull more than 88 amps, that is just the most the manufacturer recommends. Put on too big a prop and amps will soar....

There is a formula to determine the minimum cells you need. If you will pull a maximum continuous draw of 80 amps then you need cells which will supply more than that.

Example: 4000 mAh, 25C packs will support 80 amps continuous. That's 4 amps (4000 milliamps) x 20C (discharge rating) x 80% (safety margin) = 80. So the minimum you should use are packs with 4000 mAh/20C cells. You could use 2500 mAh 40C cells, but run time would be pretty short.
