    swollen packs?

hello all , new to fe boating, been a gasser long time .. very interesting stuff overhere but what a learning curve. ran my 56 apache today has scorpion 5035 10s1p setup, I have ordered more batteries to parallel.. kept runs short, checked temps, all seemed fine then let it rip, well if you call around 40mph rippin. boat slowed down got it back to shore , motor was 130degrees batts were 130 135 , esc 90 , anyway 1 side of my packs were puffy, I checked them both all around 3.2 volts per cell ? is this normal , going to let them cool then recharge right? prop is s/s prather 250 I think

    Pack mah and c rating?
If your batteries dont have the capacity to deliver the current needed they will puff. Its not normal.

Check out the chart on this page to get an idea of minimum reccomended mah:

I know those lipos are rated at 50c, but that rating is really relative to brand. I tested a pair of 5000mah 20c venoms vs a pair of 3600mah 25 Neu batteries (the venom should have 10A more dishcharge capability.) in my tc4 on road car setup for speed (39t pinion) via GPS. The venoms netted 57mph on the first run and I was able to squeeze out 58mph making more passes. With the Neu 25c/3600mah I went 62mph on teh very first run. Both sets of batteries were brand new and fully charged.

Personaly I like to set my cutoff at 3.4v per cell, that may be your problem.

A bad cell puff when the others are fine. But most likely overdrawn on capacity. Big boats, especially monos that stay wet, pull a lot of amps.
