Anyone have a problem with the wires popping off of deans while running your boat ? Had to fish it once then after resoldering had to swim about 50 yards .

setup info please you may want to switch to large bullit connectors. Deans are supposed to be good up to 60 amps I think or was it maybe 100 I can't remember

I forgot about that, I have a 6xl on 240 esc and a 8 xl on a 120 esc. Both are running 2 lipos @ 7.4 v 6000 mah and 7.4 v 8000 mah. It also popped them off on my Hydro Lifter which only was running a 13xl on a Hacker 70 which blew up one day....lol.

Steve's right, the problems are not the connectors. Deans were okay for many NiMH-powered boats in the past but are totally outclassed by many of today's BL/LiPo setups. Still, to get hot enough to melt solder is not right.
The amp draw does not depend entirely on the motor used. You can over-heat any setup with the wrong prop, a draggy boat, or by running too long. About any 4S setup with a 6XL can get smoking hot real easy - it is really a SAW or short-run motor only. If you are blowing up a Hacker 70 (LOL??) that tells me you are overamping your boats. This potentially damages motors, ESCs and packs. If you are melting solder that should hold at over 300F, then you are doing something very wrong.
