Zippy Lightmax 5800mah lipo

What do you think about these 5800mah lipos (30C)? I plan to run 2 x 2S1P config, thinking 5800 would give good runtimes.

What about Hyperion G3 VX 6500 mah (35C) ? Would probably give you even more runtime...

This is not the same price. I prefer Turnigy batteries, I have 5800mAh Turnigy 3S 25C Lipo Packs, they are great

Yes they are nice lipos but the price is the Killer here and for the extra 700mAh i think the extra running time would be minimal

I have these Hyperion G3 6500 35C Lipo's - - I run them in my Drifter
Go for the best Lipo's you can afford - these G3 Hyperion batt's are far superior than most other including Turnigy......

Be cafefull of the weight are you talking about the 3S or 6S - the 6S G3's 6500 are very heavy 1011gms each and the 3S G3's are 527gms

I'm partial to Hyperian too. They're pretty forgiving when you make a mistake too.

$36 for a 2s pack is crazy cheap though. At some point are they going to pay us to take these batteries?

I ended up purchasing two Hyperion G3 2S 5500mah 35C packs (mainly because I could not find Turnigy or Zippy 2S 5000+ 30C+ packs anywhere in stock...).

A bit pricey, but these packs claim they can be charged at 5C. However, I'm stumped on how to generate enough power to actually charge at that rate-- I have a hyperion Duo with a 350W power supply, but I think each port is limited to 180W, so I think the max rate I could charge would be 4C (I'm planning on charging at 1C or 2C as a general rule of thumb, maybe try 4C if I'm in a hurry.)

Just checked HK twitter, they rumor to be releasing 10C capable new generation if lipos.
Crap, you'd need like a house generator to charge 1 5000C lipo :)

One of my contacts over seas has been telling me that 60c cells are coming. Other than SAW I'm not sure who could use that. My 28c cells still rip.

I charge all my cells at 6 amps. Pretty conservative really. I may kick them up a notch this season. I have a lot of boats to keep up with.

turnigys

Just wondering if Bedrock has tried the Turnigy Lipos..... ones rated like the G3's.... I'm not going to contest that your batts are not better then turnigys but for us sport boaters....4X the cost is hard to get over. I recently bought some 40-50c turnigy 5000mah batts.... they are bar none the best batteries I have ever stuck in a R/C... I have high end polyquests 30c, thunder power pro power 45c, and these turnigy perform better then all of them....hate go "mud" up a thread but for the money turnigy/zippy are very hard to beat... and if you are not racing at the highest level than they, to me, appear the only way to go. In fact since I discovered turnigy/zippy's I have only bought other brands when I get a heck of a deal:) Just my 2 cents...

Well, I just received 4 new packs Turnigy 4S 5000 mah. The first 2 packs was ok, the next had two dead cells and the last had one dead cell.
I`ve just learned my lesson.

If this is any help I'll offer an opinion based on experience. Zippy is o.k but the Turnigy is the better but if you are buying from HK. I have had a few Zippy packs that lost their punch after many hard runs.
The Turnigys however keep their punch.
This is one boat and one setup with two different packs.

I have also used Polyquest, Flightpower and Rhino (another low cost pack)

For that extra 1mph you may need to get the bigger $$ packs.

For me Turnigy is the go.
