Zippy and Turnigy Batteries?

Are Zippy and Turnigy batteries a quality battery?

I've used Zippy and Rhinos for a year now, no problems, I'm happy so far although I don't run any really crazy setups.

People give them a lot of *!***!***!***!**, but I've ran them in my cars and trucks and never really had a problem. Out of the multitudes I've ordered I've only had one doa. I do have to say keep an eye on the C ratings, some better quality batteries might be a bit more forgiving on C rating, but these things if you push them you puff em :) I ran some of their 4S packs in my 1/8th truggy and they would get soft, squishy, and puffy ever time i ran them. Always charged fine though...dunno. I plan on getting some of their 30C's for this whole boat thing I'm venturing into

I have had about the same amount of Zippy and Rhino's. 2 Zippy DOA, one of the cells bad, but Rhino's none so far. Maybe just luck of the draw.

I ran the Turnigy 4s 35C 5000's in my P-mono late last year and are very happy with them so far. Plenty of power and they come in cool. My Polyquest 30C 4500's usually come in a little warm after a heat. Time will tell if they hold up.

Ive been ok with zippy. I guess turnigy is actually made by Hobbyking specifically for them. I just bought two to try out. 2s 5000 hardcase for $18. Cant beat that price. I can post when i get em.

I just bought 6 Turnigy packs at 27.00 bucks each and i love them . Saved alot of money and they work great.

I have had at least 80 runs on my 5s Zippy FlightMax in this DF 33 clone and it is still going like it was new. There may be faster batteries but on a bang for buck basis I think Zippy, Turnigy or Rhino are all good choices. Having said that I would like to add that because of the great run I have had with this 5s pack that I now have 5 other Zippy packs.

Really, i'm not sure there are faster batteries than these anymore. You can get them in 40c discharge. Does it get better? Some racers may not agree with this, but then, have they really made a comparison. Between price and performance, it is kinda dumb to buy big name big dollar lipos.

I run both Flightmax and Rhino by Zippy and couldn't be happier with the cost or performance. They run cool and long like a tall cold beer.

( Turnigy) Ive got somewhere around 20 packs ranging from 3 's 2200 mah-30c to 4's 5000 mah 50c and have sooooo many runs on them i cant count... run them in my t-rex 450 heli, t-28d , bf109-g,maritimo,drag cat, elam, miss bud(soon) f-16,f-35, f-18, mir. 2000, f4u...cant beat them!!! get the highest mah rating you can afford and abuse them!!!

One thing that seems not to be considered in these discussions is the difference in ratings between Zippy/Turnigy batteries and the higher cost ones : Z/T batteries are, in the case of a typical 4S 5000 mah battery rated 35C Continuous, 40C burst. A similar G3 is rated 35C continuous, 70C burst. This must have some meaning in interpreting the differences. Then again, there has never been a {stated} standardized testing procedure to arrive at these numbers. Until this happens, comparisons between manufacturers stated ratings may not be an accurate way to perform any real empirical analysis. Until then, actual use, or "seat of the pants" impressions will have to do.
Please don't get me wrong. In fact, I have many pairs of Z/T's and really like them, especially because they have a much appreciated easy hit on the wallet.
