These are nice but I dont know if a UL-1 will handle very well with packs that heavy. With your daughter only being 4 I think a slower boat would be the better answer

Personally id just put cheap Turnigy lipos (www.hobbyking.com) in and prop it down for more run time. As the Ul-1 has had a few reports of cracking the reduced weight of the lipos wont stress the hull as much

          Just my $3.50

I think the ones sold here are your best bet or check the swap shop from time to time. More people are moving to lipos so you will see some good deals pop up there. Or you can try these... http://www.battlepack.com/packs.asp

The replies were slow because most everyone has changed to lipo. Lipo has many advantages. Lower weight, higher voltage at higher amp draws and more recharges/battery cycles.

I also think that most people would not think that a UL-1 is suitable for a 4 year old. Hence the lack of replies.

A123s have got to be the best non LiPo cells 5-6s 2p of the 2300mah cells should bee good, I'd go 5s 2p myself then its the 10 cells from 1 dewalt 36v drill pack which can be got fairly cheap, especially in America.

Just use the lipos and prop way down!! That will SLOW the boat for the Kids and keep you from buying new packs!!
Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!
