Did you have any issues with mounting the pushrod seals on the inside? Looks like a very clean idea if it holds up well.

No issues. I haven't had a drop of water in the hull.

I'm consuming between 3000 and 3400mAh now, with low voltage reaching 13.5v... even with my Thunder Power 5000mAh 45c packs....The other whiplash racer in my heats was running a slightly more aggressive prop and experienced a ESC thermal shutdown in the 3rd heat.
No wonder, you are propped for 85-90+ amps. The average amp draw value on the datalogger is for the entire time the motor is running, including time at very low throttle. A look at the log clearly shows a pretty steady 85-90 amps with a few higher peaks and lower valleys while actually racing. If the actual racing time was 140 seconds - 18 seconds a lap for 6 laps and 30 for the 7th lap, that's an actual average draw of almost 90 amps during racing, based on milliamps consumed.

Your boat is not too far behind a P Sport Hydro in power consumption - my 1521/1.5D-powered sport boat uses about 4500 mAh for a full mile race. Our club LSH boats use about 2500 mAh for the same race lengths, with top speeds around 50.....

My Whiplash, the other whip Sean refers to is using 2200 - 2400 mah per heat. The boat is fast and I think there is more to come.

The heat where the boat was noticably faster ended up thermoing the bec circuit. I learned once again not to rely on the esc bec. Everything is now switched over.

This weekend I will run the whip with the higher pitch prop to see what happens. Crossing my fingers.

Have you tried the new ABC 1518/3 blade? This prop is a hoss in my UL-1.

Just started my Whiplash build BTW

                Doug,
Are you sure that you are only consuming 2200-2400 mAh? That seems low. Did you do any more testing this weekend?

Any idea on the amps you are pulling with the ABC 1518/3?

Keep us posted on the whip progress.

2400mAh for a heat is about right with the right prop.

                      Sean

Had to abort the testing this weekend. Pond weeds. We are now focused on weed cutting for the next couple weeks so we can run our race.

I am very sure on the 2400 mah for the Whip.

One thing that comes to mind is that I typically run 9 laps per heat. I do 2 full mill laps prior to the buzzer, and our club makes us run an additional full lap after crossing the finish line. That might account for the extra consumption I'm seeing.

                        The math works out. 3100mAh / 9 laps = 344mAhs per lap.
If I was to do 7 laps (1 mill lap with 6 heat laps) I would be right at 2400mAhs.

I have no idea. I do have Eagletree, but have not used it with this prop. I was simply bolting on different props then visually checking speed. UL-1 was faster and unstable as usual.

Currently weeds are a problem in my pond.

I believe the UL- hatch and nose piece will work on the Whiplash, but I will be using the ML boatworks hatch.
