I've run mine with a Lehner 1940/8 (1959 Kv) and a SV27 motor. I am swapping in a UL-1 motor now. Honestly while it was as fast as snot with the Lehner it is WAY more fun to drive with the SV motor.

I had a Schulze 105 in it with the Lehner. Plenty of controller for it. I think the 240 is overkill. THis is not a very big boat.

Bill I completely agree about overkill with the 240 but I have it and no other projects to use it on due to the lack of funds right now so I figured why not.

Nice Will I have been waiting for some updates. I like the paint too. My new Viper is running an Aveox 36/30/1.5y with a Hydra 120 on 4s1p. One downside to running the controller on top of the motor is heat. Its really hot down here in the south right now. I really have to watch my runtimes. Both my mono's have the controller mounted on top the motor. I don't have problems with glitching or signal range. Tx/Rx is the Tactic 2.4 like with the UL-1.

P.S. Now you have to change the pic in your avitar

Thanks, yeah I am gonna watch the temps and start with an Octura X640 and see what we got. Its hot here right now also. I wanted to get this done earlier but between work, the time I spent on the SV with flood chamber and the KIDS. LOL. I cant wait to run it though. I am goin away for the weekend but hope to have this running by the following Saturday. We will see. Oh yeah avitar has to change.

FWIW I put my ESC in front of the motor up in the nose. One pack stuffed way up in the left sponson and the other immediately to the left of the motor.

Speed is consistantly 56-58 with a V937 prop.

I ran near 60 with a x637 and the Lehner 1940/8. It was not a lot of fun to drive and I doubt you could race it like that. With the Spec motor it is a whole bunch of fun to drive and is still respectably quick ~ 45 to 50 or so.

honestly it is too light with lipos. If I still had the Lehner in it I wold put 6 to 8 ounces of lead on the CG.
