    Clear Coating

    Hi Guys,

I'm doing an overhaul on my mini-c and was wondering what you use to clear coat after a paint job.... I was going to use some Krylon Clear - but I wanted to get some insight from people who have experience.

    Thanks !

    Andy

I didn't use any yet, but I planned on using some Krylon orange and black. Then applying the decals. I've got the hull all stripped off and cleaned up ready for painting.

Gas or Nitro boats require fuel proof clear, but electrics can get by using Krylon clear.

Just let the color coats dry & cure a couple of days ... i russhed 1 to get on the water and clear coated same day and it crinkled because paint was still wet underneath!

And, if you want a better finish, go for 2-3 coats, sanding between them with fine grit sandpaper. Usually coat No3 gives mirror finish.
PS leave 1 day min between coates
