Phil Thomas SS 21 vs. UL-1 Pictures

Just received my Phil Thomas SS 21 directly from Phil. Here are some pictures compairing it to my UL-1 hull. SS21 has slightly less AOA than UL-1. Balance point is 14 inches forward from transom according to instructions (slightly behind turnfin mounting bolt holes). This will be a sport build using 6s power, MMM controller, and Nue 1515 1.5y 1500kv motor.

I am suprised he didn't sell you his FE version with the front of the cowl perm attached to the boat.
Can't wait to see how that 1/8th scale truck ESC holds up in a boat. I haven't even been able to get the fan to turn on in my 1/8th scale truck yet.

He asked me Nitro or FE ...I told him both. Nitro version can be used with either.

Yes it sure can and the extra weight is fine for the power we are putting into these small boats. I just think the nitro version is a pain in the butt to tape down compared to the FE version.

I enjoy every minute it takes to tape this baby up....just kidding. I may chop the coil.

Heck I may run nitro later in life.

Here is the area Raydee is talking about being taped. BTW no problem with my MMM controller yet...fan works as designed.

No...with hatch taped and boat built correctly, water will not be a problem.

Wanting to run 6s more than likely. Should yield a little longer run times as well.

I have a race legal setup if I choose (1515 1y 2200kv and Hydra 240), but my planned 6s setup should be more efficient for sport or playing around. My current inventory of 3s lipo batteries that I use in my Brushless emaxx will also work in this setup...so I will not have to invest in more 4s lipo batteries.
