Here is my Miss Vegas conversion, I removed every thing except the original motor mounts. were the hole for the muffler exited the transom I made a wood backing and then mounted the new speed master rudder. I found that the stock rudder would hit the prop if it was any larger then the Y535. I had done this conversion before but due to the manufactures sunday build the hydro was problematic, the power of the brushless motor would flex the old stuffing tube so bad, that it would sound like blender chopping ice! So tonight I decided to start over, this conversion is all new and i am trying to use stuff I have just lying around. wish me luck!

Here I installed the steering servo using mahogany blocks. on the hatch I wanted to keep the turbine intakes open, so I used water proof epoxy and glass cloth to make a "shelf" to close up the hatch. -
I closed up the hole were the old steering rod went. I also installed the motor mount and put two layers of 6 ounce glass cloth on it.Comment

here i am instaling the new stuffing tube. I used a piece of brass tubing that would slip over the the motor shaft and glued it into place, i then shortened it and used smaller pieces of brass to reduce the ID and used lock tight to secure the smaller pieces in place. here is the motor with wire drive installed and a mahogany cradle to support the end of the brass tube.Comment

yeah I will be having a couple of late nights for the next couple of weeks! Iam thinking more along the lines of a Q class hydro 18 cells or 6s packs but i will try it out on 12 cells first. she may be more impressive than i think. I should have her at the next RMTB race to mess around with!Comment

just about finished!!!! I am waiting on a 3/16 strut(couldnt find the other one), and I still have to glue the wire in the stub shaft. I will try to post some pics later on tonight! I think I will bypass 12cells and go directly to 18! It will have gps on board and if any one has a video cam next sat. a vid will be posted on OSE!Comment
