    P-Mono build

Here is a few pics of my .21 mono that I'm converting over to electric. I got this hull from Jerry Dunlap many years ago when I lived in Wa. State. I don't even know who designed it. But anyway, so far I have glassed in new engine rails as the originals were in bad shape. I've manage to fill and sand out all the imperfections in the hull i.e., pin holes scratches etc. and sprayed on a couple coats of primer. I plan on running it with either a 9XL or maybe a Scorpion HK outrunner on 4s2p.
Should receive the hardware in a few days. Only issue I'm having is how to make a waterproof cowl for the hull. I'll post more pics as the build continues. Any comments on motor choices would be appreciated. I plan on running this boat in some heat races with the local nitro club here in No. Va.

Nice hull. Spank them gassers with one of their own hulls!

What are the dimensions of the opening?

I've seen guys use some clear plastic sheeting to close off the opening where their engines would usually sit.

Cut the lip off of the deck around the opening, epoxy some strips of 1/8"x1/2"wood under the opening leaving about a 1/4" showing for some plexi glass to sit on...then just tape the plexi down to seal...done! Cheap and easy fix!

Thanks for the tip Kent. The build is coming along nicely. Added some extra glass to the hull floor and mounted the hardware. Next I'll be mounting the motor and mount and making the canopy. Will post more pics soon.

Is that aCrapshooter? If it is, nice boat. One of my favorites from my nitro racing days.

Why buy new when you can always convert your old nitro hull. I have a rigger that's based off of a Dumas Hawk .21 that I'll probably convert once I finish the mono.

Yeah I've seen that vid to. I have the front sponsons from the hawk but my fuselage is build longer for better handling. It made a nice heat racing boat. Very stable and turns really nice.
