      Okay, Here's the update...
I got some black pin-striping from good ol' Pep Boys. I cut it lengthwise down the middle (as I only wanted one stripe). I placed the stripe on the seams where the two colors meet.
Note, the part where it folds over to the top (near the rear hatch) I knew taping the hatch may pull the pin-striping off, so I put down the double (uncut) pin-stripe for this section. Then used a black sharpie to color inside the center (between the 2 stripes) and peeled off the pin-stripe. Now the tape will not peel this off.

I have had the same disaster with the duplicolor stuff! There are two different types. They have an enamel and a lacquer. Use their clear over the enamel and it's wrinkle time. Been there, done that. It WILL work fine over the lacquer as I recall. Problem with the duplicolor stuff is that no matter how well you primer, etc. Tape lifts the duplicolor lacquer has been my experience.

                  Ok, new update.
Hard wired the motor to the ESC. (right to the circuit board, no spliced wires)
De-soldered the ESC's RX cable, cut to length, soldered back on the circuit board.
Conformal coated the ESC and the RX.
                  Installed the motor.
Installed the strut w/ no skeg.
Wanted the rudder on the right, so I cut the control arm off, but couldn't reattach it with any strength. Installed the Minicat Hydro rudder.
→ Now I have a rudder water pickup if ever I decided to cool her.
                  Installed the Servo.
                  Installed the stuffing tube.
Installed the flex cable w/ liner.
                  Installed the coupler.

Will post pics when conformal stuff dries.

I'd like to thank the retired renegade for donating the ESC & RX.
I'd like to thank the resurrected Dirty renegade for donating the Strut, Servo, & sacrificing her rudder for the failed attempt.

If you'll notice, the stuffing tube is too close to the coupler. (I always do that)
There is no room to remove the coupler w/o taking the motor out. I'll have to cut it back now.

The standard reply to your type of question is to ask...
                              What prop are you using?
                              or
                              What's your setup?

I'll take a long shot and say it's probably your ESC programming, specifically the motor timing. The Castle site says that outrunners on the 25A should run "low" timing.
