I received a PM about how I mounted a Feigao540 XL motor in a Mean Machine without modifying the origional fiberglass motor mount designed by Aeromarine for the standard fuel engine.
The two accompanying pictures pretty much tell it all. I started with a 3/4" thick piece of plexiglass and cut a wedge as shown. I rounded the inside to match the curvature of the Feigao water jacket. After a bit of flat black paint, I put industrial strength double sided sticky tape on both sides of the wedge; one sticks to the origional fiberglass motor tub and the second to the water jacket.
To hold down the motor I used some 3/16" rubber pads on the mounting holes and custom bent a stainless clamp. The clamp has shrink tubing over it for better vibration resistance. The finished set up is as shown in the second picture.
I came up with several easy mounts to accomplish the same job but this certainly was the easiest to build with the scrap materials I had available. Since it appears many members of the forum are adding a brushless to their Mean Machine, perhaps a sharing of ideas may be of value. Best, Joe
