    turnigy ESC

here is my experiences with the turnigy marine esc's

i use the 35a in a renigade rigger and geko with the turnigy 28-35-2700 and it works great. the geko has been running for about 6 months on 3 cells around 35mph with no other maintnence other than lubing the shaft. no heat issues - A++++ 35a

i use the 60a in mini folki and offshore worrior with turnigy 28-45-3600 watercooled and feigao 380 8s. works great this is a bullet proof set-up. the folki spent about 1/2 hr on the bottom of the pond and came out working like a champ. no heat issues. i have also used these with 380l's, they seem to work with almost any 28mm motor good. only have had 1 out of about 7 go bad over 8 months running almost every day. my friend has burned a few using the stock cheap chineese motors (24-45-2700kv) that come in the offshore worrior but i have had no issues with this one - A+ 60a

i use the 120a in a no-step 1 with a feigao 8s, with a x438 it stays less than 100 degrees. my friend uses it in a delta 32 with feigao 8xl and x445 - no heat issues. so far i am impressed with the 120a, it preforms just as good as my cc120 at a fraction of the cost - A++++

i used the 180a with a feigao 12xl on 6 cells for about 5 runs and it worked great in a delta 32. i then tried it in a saw set-up in a delta 26, 8L on 4 cells x537 and no problem with short runs (30 sec.), then i tried the same 8L 4 cell in a delta 29 and it quit after about 45 sec. it was the wrong set-up and i knew it but should not have pulled anywhere close to 180a. hobby city accepted it under warranty and replaced it (waiting for it because they are on BO. this one gets A- so far but i am not disapointed in it by any means (it was cheap)

so far from what i can tell i give hobby city A+ because any warranty issues i have had were handled correctly.

I cant get my turnigy 180amp to give me full voltage.....I hope its my fault..hate to think I got a bad one

    Its my mean machine cat
I used the optional programer set at
    Forward only
    Low start
    LVC at 3.2 per cell
    Low timing

    Flight power 2s 5000mah 25c x2 in series
    2200kv castle neu motor

Boat would only go 23mph......soon as I switched out the esc she ran 43mph

    Using a m445 prop

while we are on the esc topic, what is the deal with the extra cap board for the etti's? what do they do? are they worth installing for a 8xl - 1515 1y set-up?

capacitors only have one role in life, suppressing voltage spikes on the ESC's input power lines (due to switching in the ESC and inductance in the battery wires

so on this case more is better, safer, more efficient

Did you calibrate the throttle? I believe you turn controller on, go full throttle, and then plug the ESC into the battery. Hold for 2 seconds, wait for the beeps and go back to neutral, it should be set.
