Aeromarine 43" Stingray 10s MONO

Here is a Aeromarine 43" Stingray 10s2p MONO,, I just finished building for a local club member.. It is powered by a Neu 2215/2Y and CC HV-240 esc, running 4x 5s 5000mAh 30C Poly RC lipos... Built with all Speedmaster hardware and CC Racing turn fins..

We ran the boat last weekend and it drives like it is on RAILS! Smooth as silk power delivery and 57mph the first time out with X460 prop.


I will get some video of it running this Sunday..

Is there any chance the cable will try to twist up with that much space between the stuffing tube and motor coupler ?

I doubt it, it's prob a .187 cable. it's not that big a gap.

Not a chance.... It is 1/4" flex cable and the gap is only 1 1/2in.. After you install a shaft saver in the middle, you only have 5/8" on each end... Mabey the picture makes the gap look bigger that it acually is?

The wieght is about 17-18LBS RTR...

We are very pleased with the performance of the CC turn fins,, great products...

well this thread answered my question of the power of the Neu 2215/2y

Tex does it take more power to push a cat or a mono?.....and would a hydra 240 (not hv) be enough controler on 8s?

Generally, monos need more power as hydros and cats run on "air" so to speak.

The Hydra will not sirvieve on 8S. Its a 6S controller as per the specs and even thats pushing it. For 8S you will need the HV version.

doby what about the Turnigy sentilion 100 amp hv that handles 12s or the himodel 200amp 8s

If you are running that big Neu, you would need something at least in the 150 amp range.

I have 2 of the Turnigys you mentioned but have not tried them yet on anything over a 5S setup but as with any of the cheaper controllers, the amp ratings have to be taken with a "grain of salt". Also, while more voltage equals less current, these big motors can swing some massive props therefore having some major current draining capacities.

I run a Schultz 60/140 on a LMT 3080 (probably the biggest motor out there) in my Rio on 10S on a Octura X482 (huge) And it pulling around 130 Amps at full tilt.

I have also run this with a castle HV 180 with no issues.

If you want to try one of the cheaper controllers,,,,they might work, but do so at your own risk

I would recommend the HV-180 for starters,, if you can spend more get the HV-240 or Schulze 40.160WK... I have personally ran all 3 of these controllers with great results on the 2215/2Y running 10s2p..

Yes, Doby is right on that the Monos take more power to push at the same speed,, compared to a Cat or Hydro..

Also dont waste your time running the 2215/2Y on 8s... It just wont have any speed with 8s and will draw more amps.. Run 10s and you will have a rocket!
