Pull that shaft after every heat and check it,lube it and install it. I always do this.

After greasing I also use some oil and do drops down the wire and on the saft before going back in...just makes it much more slick.

No problem on sednign me the strut. Seems like a shorter shaft is in order as well. Those struts do not need the 2.25 shafts.

Well I got the new wire drive installed as well as a new Etti 150. I made sure the shaft had a little jiggle in it, greased her up and took it for quick run. Everything looked good after a few laps so I put a fresh batteries in her, boosted the timing from 2 to 7 degrees and ran it about 4 minutes with a egneg massaged m640. So the final result after stiffening the hull, advancing the timing, adding a wire drive, loosening up the prop shaft clearance and adding about 15 ounces of lead was a faster, more stable, cooler running boat. My ESC temp appeared to drop from upper 130's to the mid 120's. Most probably due to less resistance from the drive line. From the wear marks on the shaft, it looks like the shaft is now riding on the rear part of bushing likes it's supposed to. Time to go out and have some fun...... and start planning for the next build this winter
