If you build your plug strong enough you can get 2-3 molds from it. Then you can send me one so I can build them for you. :) I would probably vac bag them. Epoxy and no gel coat.

hi shockerman, rreyes i think we need more people like you in this hobby because it gives motivation to guys like me to keep trying this may not be your job but can put money in the bank and that's fine. i do a little frp on fullsize hulls and models, also i have the cad software but no one to teach me how to use it.and you are the pro.you can email me with some tips any time.as i said first one to go say the price.great work keep it up the rewards are great.

Shockerman, what do you think of my micro cat? of your design, with a few changes mostly to the rear to replicate the true Mystic hulls.
I only needed the inside transome profile pieces, the rest was 'build as you go'.
I used 8mm Balsa for strenght, and that also gave me a flat bottom running surface for the sponsons, much the same as the china copy cats, or the true MHZ hull.
Athough my micro cat is not 100% proply stepped, The hull still rides very dry with minimal outside sponson edge contact. Actually there isnt much of the boat in the water at all!
It handles really crappy, until i apply more speed and the hull runs free. She then turns great!
I would like to build a 2m cat, but the motors hardware and electrics is the exepensive part!.

In the process of also desiging and building a 1/2 scale offshore Mystic 5000 cat in Ply. It will inboard powered by a couple of small block v8's and seat 2 people with head up front.
Again, props and shafts alone would be very expensive.

I too enjoy scratch building same as you, and also need to learn CAD !! So i can invent my own design cat hull 3D. just imagine..........working for Mystic boats in the design team!

for those of you that were following this plug build work has recommenced. got the strakes layed down and epoxied in place. Next step fill them in for a smooth transition to the hull and then priming.......

.........and sanding, and paint, and sanding, and painting, and polishing, and polishing, and polishing and and and and.......make a plug of it.
keep up the good works !!!!
It's all worth the efford once you pop the first hull out of the mould !!

Looks incredible Shockman. Can I pre-order one? I have been struggling with getting a Mystic built all year in the Aqua-Mania skin but I want FE and not gas. I also don't want to buy a station wagon to haul the thing around with and spend a fortune. This is exactly what I want! Keep up the great work and please, please let me know when I can order one.
