    Retro fitting the Blackjack 55

I`m looking to find the appropriate motors, esc`s, props, and batteries for my 55 conversion.

I have found a motor with these specs and think it will be ok. What do you think?

    • 115v
    • 1/2 hp
    • 7.2a
    • 1,725 rpm
    • 1/2"" shaft
    • reversible
    • quiet running sleeve bearings
    • continuous duty
    • thermally protected

I'm looking to hit the mid to high 40's with her with half decent handling for now . At some point I will turn it into a one-time SAW hull, and if it survives I'll make her go even quicker until she 's. I want to see how fast I can get a cheap hull to run.

This is where I found the motor and I know what it's used for but I thought the HP and specs in general were good.

Let me know what you think please.

A stock supervee motor puts out more hp. than that. twin feigao 580's would make her really rip I bet!

You got a lot of good suggestions in your original thread you started a while back. Re-read it.

Just a tad, I can only assume that Sven has a good sense of humor by posting that!

That was the point. I thought it would be funny as hell to throw two bathroom fan motors in the boat with massive pitched props on them.

Which thread was it? I think I was thinking of ramming 2 Lehner 3080's into her with the max voltage and mah's available but lots of guys thought I was nuts on spending that much to the boat on it's first run. So I am honestly asking what power house would work with 55 to get her to the 40's. I figure I can still run the Lehner 3080's and prop down for slower speeds and then prop up for it's maiden last voyage in a single SAW run.

complete scale built weight should only come in around 16lbs. If you are serious email Andrew over in AUS and get a couple Neu motors through him. He is very good and will take the time to get you exactly what you want out of the build. Just make sure you know what you want ie. SAW or sport or any kind of handling which proboat doesnt specialize in but seeing a big boat fly across the water even straight is so sweet.

Why can't he order the same Neu motors here?

Can I get 2215 3Y here? Maybe. He utilizes some winds and sizes that some just dont think about using. If Someone takes the time to help witha major part of a buildand offers FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING then WHY NOT???

                          Hello Boatman...................
I think it will be a lot heavier than that , In fact I know it will be a lot heavier . I have a 49" mono with a Neu 2230/1.5y with two banks of 12C lipo's that weighs in at 25lbs , I also have a 57" Apache mono with a 3080/7 that weighs 32lbs with the same cells

16lbs.........I would like to see the break down on that

maybe 16 pounds will be the weight of the parts left over after a saw run with 2 lehner 3080s

No-one offers free shipping, its in the price of the parts. You always pay shipping.
