Here are some shots of my hatch starting with a styrofoam block sanded to shape and then covered with epoxy and then with the foam melted out (it just vanishes) I thought it might give you an Idea or two

The outside is real smooth the Styrofoam which was melted out left a rough texture in the inside it will never show when I paint it.Peter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!

nice job i think i will go with a different type of foam which will not disolve but act more a floatation if or when she flips. i can still hack away at some of it to creat that extra room . pics will be posted today some time . lunch is calling meLast edited by zanda; 05-21-2009, 03:22 AM.Comment

Well it depends on what you are trying to do go really fast or go fast and last, with 2 4s packs in parallel (3500mah or greater +20c min. discharge rate) you can get like 50 mph depending on how you prop up. I think the parallel set up is more durable than the series but I have been running a 6s setup in my mono 2-3s1p setups in series and I always have a 1 battery hooter than the other too hot as I have killed a few packs (too low of an mah rating) that is why I say 3500 mah with 2c min as they can handle the amps and if you check out what the racers use on a regular basis you will see they use like 5000 mah 25-30 c or better.
I hope this helps,
oh yes glass in the bottom of your boat and cut the bulkheads off that are in the battery compartment / gear servo area, so it is nice and flat in there, that is what Ace did to hisPeter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!

bring on the info . the cats lenght is 550mm width 210mm depth internal max enging area 40mm. So im in need of brushless esc all hardware needed to get this kitty ripping up the water . i have a spektrum dx3.0 ready to role all i need is some ideas as to what i should do . brushless (twin)? esc ? water cooled ? battery lithium? drive components prop and rudder? i want twin brushless unless someone can convince me as to why i shouldnt.
go fast and last is a nice idea but how hot and will it need cooling i would love for it to be balistic and last . but i not its one or the othere
cheers and beers.....Comment

I would go brushless twin it costs more but everything balances out soooo very well and your rudder can be mounted in the center plus the nobility of it all and 2 of everything (I have twin boys so I like twins what can I say) NOT THAT I AM TRENDY OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT BUT the twin powered thing is catching on like crazy That little boat my son made man that thing handles sweet it just goes and straight turns on a dime and gives you change back, oh well I have to finish getting ready for work now, water cool everything if you can using in runners there are some nice surface mount water intakes which would work rather well available on osePeter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!
