    Titan 40 (33")

I picked up a real nice 33 titan in the swap shop.....I love the hull
took it to the canal today as this was our first experiance running fe boat it turned out to be all bad

well starting off boat wouldnt go over maybe 20mph..then we had problems with signal on my dx3.0 2.4 digital.........boat wouldnt steer well then lost control of it and it went wild till it hit the shore line then lost signal on the other side of the canal

it wasnt the fault of the boat i'm sure....something with my radio.....this boat has a tranny and i;m not sure I like it....its got a 9xl with a nicely moded himodel 200 with no bec..we used a receiver pack....will put pics up in a bit

    back to the drawing board

nice boat and setup man, only thing id change is the Connectors, get rid of the Y harness and Deans and fit some 6mm bullets. that will be robbing you a little there.

i used a dx3.0 till i wrote a boat off, some people seem to get wawy with them others have problems, also carbonfibre can cause trouble
the spectrum modules are okay and as far as i know so are the other spectum units

I have a Titan 40 with gear drive and it races at 50 mph just fine - a great handling mono. First off, what voltage? What gear ratio? What prop? I suspect your main problem is too little Kv on the motor. Try a 7XL.

I run a 1.27:1 ratio, 4S2P/9000 and an m445 with a 2550 Kv Neu 1512. You want the strut parallel with the keel (set the boat on a flat table) and I don't use any down trim on the tabs.

I was using two fresh trueRC 2s 8000mah lipos prop was m645 as far as the gears the bottom gear is I think a 66 and the top I need to count

the previos owner stated he ran it on 4s and didnt gps it but he said it a little slower than his UL-1 that does 50..he also said he had a hard time programing the himodel 200 and only set the LVC at 4s and left everything else at default

also told me he had problems with his spektrum also and changed to JR 2.4

must be all that CF in the hull

i'm going to try a fm radio next before I sell one of my spektrums

before I change motors I want to try to get it running properly...if my spextrum was the problem would that explain why I had not that much throttle?

the red titan in the picture looks real nice...seems you wernt using 2.4 digital on that correct?

            That's a great picture!
I like the way these medium sized boats look on the water.

sounds like programming issues with the ESC. 68/48 = 1.42 ratio. make sure your cable is nicely lubed. Was she running wet? that can rob tons of speed.

Fluid, you rock. Is that the same shot that was in RCBM last year? I just hope I can get my 29 to ride like that!

Good luck Bustit, you got a killer set up. Go black and you won't go back......................

A 9XL can run without the gear drive with an X445 prop on 4S easily. Your gear ratio is giving you the RPM of a 12 XL can.

Are you sure the previous owner wasn't running that motor/gear drive ratio on 6S??

You need to find a spur gear that is 50-55. Just a few teeth bigger than your pinion gear. That will get you a nice running 4S setup with a X645.

Make sure your gear lash is set correctly. There should be an ever so slight bit of play between the gears.

If you're still not getting in the 40's with this, start trouble shooting your ESC and cells.
