Its not like its doing 90 mph and the hull wasnt designed for the speed.is there other intruder builds and footage? To me if this mod was a necessity , it would have been included in the desin of the hull.. Jesse, lets do legg lake!!!
I am glad I got the hull and not you I love doing mods, and having designed some crappy hulls, I appreciate the "luck" you have to have in order to make a perfect hull. I also began wondering why NOBODY else has this hull.... I have never seen it other than on their site.

I am pretty sure this flap is needed due to the 'rise' in the last step. In my balsa cat builds it is perfectly flat and I don't have any tunnel flaps on any other cat. I don't mind, it is actually kinda cool. I can control the bow down without having to add a brick to the bow

As for the lake, bring it on! If you are up for a balsa build, I have a set of plans scaled to a super successful ride. its a 24" version of my Miss Geico (the shockerman plans). I can give you the specs if interested.

Further mods, I added a spray rail along the rounded chine. I noticed that I was getting significant spray vertical from water pulling up the sides.

    more soon

Hey just got back from the OSS national series at the Lake...today and Sunday. Team CRC also uses the flap on their new MTI cat. Nothing more than 1/2" teflon plate all the way across the tunnel and 2 feet back from the transom in the rear and can control it. I have some video if I can find time to upload tonight. They said it makes a big difference...but they are also running in the 140-150 mph range. Said it was almost the same as a trim....closes the tunnel and gives it more lift...it also helps out in big ocean water as they land from big air.

Got some decent video of a few boats. Not a big showing this year with sponsor cuts....even Geico did not make it.

Always cool to see "Bad Moon Risin" (Bob Morgan) old Big Thunder marine skater cat. 4 engines and 4 drives. Outter drives run larger props than the inner drives...stange but he cranks. They are very close togther so it needs smaller props on the inner drives. 4 big blocks...she is loud!

I will do a sep post if I can upload this evening.

Cool Jeff, I am interested in seeing your shots.

Took her back out and man does that flap rock! Allows me to bring struts to some positive angle. Started getting her aired out some - check it out, I am getting there. (this time with some tunes - anyone guess who?)

Didn't have my camerawoman with me so bear with the tilted toolbox angle. I did end up with a significantly faster speed than expected, wait till end to see gps; its hard to see just how she is riding, but a little hop, need a tad lower struts, but getting cloooooose.

And remember - twin proboat powerplants ($200 total) and 4x3S Rhino packs ($130 total); now you see why I have bought so many..............

                    Thanks Peter!

She is lookin real good, the second to last vid (48mph) actually looks faster from the recording, but the 8mph more in this last run, really did blow me away. I will get some good vid of the higher speeds and try to top the "Camel commercial".
