Big thanks to the guy who invented the scissors to cut kevlar !
Bought one and it works 100%.
I'm using kevlar to reinforce the hatch. Wanna make pins in the hatch, which
slides into tubes under the deck of the boat.
      Pics will follow soon.

Could some sort of standoff not be used on the motor? I.e. extend the motor forward from the drive a few inches, and reinforce it by connecting it with the bottom of the hull somehow?

The motor IS a few inches from the drive, if not: the flexaxle is too short to have a nice radius
                if you wanna steer .

                      Gerwin,

Is that your water ballast tank up the front of the bulk head . I think it is a great idea to have ballast tanks in the boat . Nice one mate. BONEWAR

                        Eodman :

I have no clue about the speed, all i know that this boat is no lightweight :-)
I'm willing to let go some speed, in exchange for durability.

                        Bonewar : yup, that's the water-ballasttank.

Throw a sponge in your ballast tank, it will almost eliminate the fluid movement during running.. (sponge fastened down of course, not floating)

Too late for that, the tank is completely sealed. But is has bulkheads in it, with small
                            holes to fill.

Not much, covered the inside with carbon/kevlar cloth.
Didn't turn out as neat as I wanted, cause I layed it up in one piece.
So the lines didn't stay straight.
But with all the stuff installed and the poolnoodles inside the hull, nobody will notice.
