    29'' Rico Mono Build

I just started on a new build. Its a 29'' rico racing mono.
My plan for the setup is as follows
    speedmaster hardware
    ose tabs and fins
    fiago 9xl
    etti 150
    4s lipo
Here are a few pics, I've already installed the carbon fiber. I hope to get the hardware on this weekend and will post more pics as I go.

I got the hardware mounted over the weekend. Next step is to lay out the inside. I'm not sure of the layout yet, Ive been looking at other posted builds to get ideas for a clean fuctional layout.

very nice man...i'm looking forward to seeing how you set up the inside....someday I want to set up one of the chinese 36" to 39" mono's ...do you think your hardware would be ok for a longer mono?

I have the same hardware on my df 33 and it works great. I hav'nt built anything bigger so I'm not sure but I would think you would need a longer rudder and bigger flex cable.

I started laying out the inside. The motor mount is in and I made up a platform for the lipos to sit. I looks like it would be too tight to mount the esc over the motor so it will probably go on the left side with the receiver then the receiver pack and servo on the right side.

I got a little more done this week. I made a plate to mount the servo, soldered and installed motor and esc. I'm just waiting for a coupler so I can install the stuffing tube and a few other little things. Than it will be time to get this thing wet.

Very nice clean work there.....I have a question for you

when your trying to cut the CF cloth to a certain shape....you have any tips on how to stop the cloth from fraying so badly?.....my edges want to unravel terribly

For the servo mount and the battery platform I cut the pieces of plywood to the right shape first. Then cut a piece of cf a bit larger that the plywood, epoxy it on, let it dry, then trim the edges, then install it. It seems to work well.

ok so you trim the dried cf off with a dremel cut off wheel?

After it dries I actually use a sliding compound miter saw to try to get nice straight lines and a jig saw for cutouts.
