can't wait for the day I drag a boat home behind the truck and see what she says! actually we have talked quite a bit and once I finish my PhD and get a job and a pay check and a place to park it, we will get one. Just wait till I start my dream build..... 1/2 scale hydro with a big outboard set up for two people....

Jesse J, Hi. could not resist sending you photos of what I would like to make.
A 30' model of the Graf Spee with a 15HP outboard under the rear turret. At least I am not the only dreamer. Regards

I agree Shocker, it would be extremely difficult to build the complex curved shapes of the C5000 transom with balsa/ply, see drawing attached.

In the meantime, the only progress on my build is the addition of strakes/rails to the bottom of the sponsons, see pic. A lot of sanding lies ahead...

The c5000 isnt to difficult to replicate in balsa i have done it in 36" model that im trying to make a mold of it.

                        Jesse :

Good to see you fixed the purpoising by yourself.
If you look at the pics of Lomdels cat, you'll see that he has already tunnelextensions
                        build-in.

Shocker, we need to see that cat you're "trying" to build!
Gerwin, the extension you are seeing on my cat, is just not setting back the transom like Norm did. My rudder will be further aft providing more steering and high speed stability...

IMO, both your "extensions" are to "channel" the air under the back of the boat.
That provides more lift in the back.
The rudder further to the back : I agree, it will help.

Well, finally completed my graphics except waiting for some carbon fiber sheets
to finish some details. Also waiting for the UL-1 Power system. Got my 2S1P 20C
5000 MAH Lipos and my charger. I will not be posting any more photos unless
I can get a video. I will also report on how it runs brushless. I really would like to
thank Jesse J and Lomodel and any others that gave me a lot of advice. I could not
have completed this without this help. I will always appreciate this. Regards

PS I started with 2S1P 20C 5000 MAH lipos so I do not start frying everything. When I learn about lipos I will start asking again if I should
                                use more powerfull batteries.
