could you use a thin thrust bearing and sandwich it with 2 thin washers? Or would there be not enough play?

You mean inside the motor , no theres not enough play for that . The washers are 0,03 inch each.

Yesterday i also finished a motormount for the big KB45 motor . Its made from aluminium 12cm long and 6,1/2cm wide.

The KB45 will be used in my brand new built Lizard Xtreme .

Ok, I was just wondering, but it would be possible if you did have enough play?

I think it would be possible if there was enough play but there never wil be enough not even with all the washers removed .
I have my Tsunami running a KB45XL8 on 6s lipo and runs fine , the kb is also modified this way .

I did same job to make a cooling jacket for a NEU 1521/1D finned and an Align 600XL. On 3rd attempt it came out nice. The trick is to have proper O'rings (i used 3mm cross section diameter) and special attention to the external diameter of motor with O'rings to be the same as the "mold" external diameter. Thanks man, I had a nice weekend.

I want to make a jacket like this for a feigao 9xl...how many wraps around the caulking tube for this and the epoxy doesnt stick to the clear paper wraped around the caulking tube?

I would suggest 3 layers minimal and no when the epoxy is dry it does not stick anymore.

Use CF tape and it will have nice strong edges without trimming. You can get it in an array of widths.

is the last layer of plastic to smooth out the epoxy before it dries?

If you have a seal a meal vac food system at home (I love mine)you can slide it in a bag and vac bag it. Make three at a time. You can make them in minutes with CF tape and cheap epoxy. 30 or 60 minute. I like the 60 min as it ends up stronger but also is thinner to work with. Wrap and warm them up with a heat gun and the epoxy flows nicely then suck them down or wrap tight with cellophane or saran wrap.

You do need some fabric release if you do this but you can get that at a fabric store and is just as good as a peel ply. Then wrap in paper towels and suck them down and leave for the afternoon. I will have pics of mine later...my camera lens won't open.... kodak junk!
