I am planning to use a HM200A with a KB45 8XL. Why you recommend high timing? And which one?
By the way, did you have the BEC version(4-8s)?

on the timing; read either on the manual or reveiw about it that was why i copied and pasted the exact words.

on the BEC yes it did but i had it (middle wire disengaged) where i wasn't going to use it.

on the parallel connection configuration both red (+) to red both black (-) to black. engaged black first, then red. it wasn't until the fourth throttle test while checking prop rotation that it failed.

it is a good esc as the other two perform great and have for over a year now.
on that twin cat i stated out with 2 mystery 80a did good for 42 mph. changed over to the hextronic 120a and cat hit 46 mph. when i changed those out to the HM200 same cat same setup on NiMh 4200 hit 51 mph with no heating issues on the esc or feigao motors but NiMh cells vented.

Nice job with the cat hardware!!! Sorry to hear about the esc. It seems that they are not tested well from the factory. Its hit and miss on them.

thanks Steve. i agree on the hit & miss.
today i transfered all the connectors from the burnt esc to one of my old mystery80s. turned on and rudder only no throtle. unplugged esc & put servo on to test throttle. worked perfect. ohmed motor windings to case...all clear.
well just maybe.....hmmmmmmm....(insert light bulb here) put in the PiStix and presto..back in bussiness for now.

                  I was just kidding.
I like the shape of the Jolly.
I once owned one. You know the designer of the original is
                  Hanspeter Rotschi ?
He is more into "lederhosen" than into Stars and Stripes

it is a nice hull. wish i could afford one of his big cats$$$$$.
he was nice enough to correct a possible handling problem and developed an enhancement part for it. Steve here was more than gracious to get me that part two days before i painted it.
well see how it works. most jolly cat owners that tried it said it helped.

maybe i'll put a couple of USA flags on it. say some nice ones at the truck stop.

well recieved my new HM200 yesterday. soldered the connectors in place.
this time i read the instructions.
with no PiStix, it powered up great and followed the beeps. all went well. powered down and up 3 times to make sure it stayed.
i will not water proof yet or add cooling plate yet.
i have one that is DP270'd and the other free breathing on my twin cat. the DP'd runs 6 degrees cooler than the free breather at 85 amps.
at some point the saturation effect will kick in on the DP'd.

well the "manual" is to big to attach for a PDF file.
i'll see if i can figure a way to do it.

now i need for the wind to quit blowing so hard.
